I created this account for one reason: to hold individuals accountable for bigotry, especially those in positions of public trust.

This post concerns Brian Edward McClellan, a licensed realtor with FLS Choice Realty in Ocala, Florida. After submitting a simple, routine offer just $5 less than the listed price I received messages that were not only unprofessional, but included profane, classist, and racist language. I am sharing screenshots to allow people to see for themselves.

This is not about a disagreement over price, this is about conduct that crosses the line.


Why This Matters:

1. Real estate professionals are held to high ethical standards under Florida law.

Under Florida Statutes Chapter 475 and the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC), licensed realtors must demonstrate honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness not only during transactions, but in all conduct.

2. Florida Statute §475.25 allows for disciplinary action when a licensee:

Is found guilty of conduct involving moral turpitude,

Acts in a way that is dishonest or untrustworthy,

Or engages in behavior that undermines public confidence in the real estate profession, including racist or hateful language, even outside a transaction.


3. The DBPR can act when the reputation of the profession is harmed.

When behavior is hateful, discriminatory, or abusive, even in private messages it reflects poorly not only on the individual, but on the profession as a whole. Public trust matters.

Let this serve as a reminder: if you are licensed to work with the public, you are accountable to the public. That accountability doesn’t stop when you close the app or walk away from a deal.

My goal is not harassment, it is transparency. Hate has no place in any profession. I have a degree in criminology and I believe in accountability.
