BYF 42 #3635 and BYF 42 #3636 I also have these listed seperately, but would much prefer them to stay together in their new home: These are 2 Mauser P38 who came off the assembly line together in 1942. After the war, they were seperated by the iron curtain, with one staying free in the west, with the other getting stuck in Soviet East Germany. I was able to reunite them after about 85 years, but sadly, I must let them go.
If sold as a pair, they will come with a custom home-made display case.
Pistol #1 (BYF 42 3635): BYF 42 3635. This is an excellent example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these wer made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45's. This one was reworked after the war and issued to the East German police force. It is all matching, but the barrel has a "Crown N" proof. It has the proper "Eagle 135" Nazi military proofs and an East German "sunburst" proof on the left side of the trigger. The finish is dark and was likely refinished in East Germany. It has retained about 98% of this new finish with minor wear on the front edges of the slide and some handling marks on the underside of the barrel. Comes with excellent grips and a matching magazine that was re-numbered at the police arsenal. Minty bore. De-cocker is functional. Also comes with a COA from Legacy Collectables, where I purchased it from.

Pistol #2 (BYF 42 3636) This is a nice example of a rare Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1942. It is a first-year Mauser production, where only 19,000 of these were made, making it only slightly more common than the zero series or Nazi-marked svw 45's. This one is matching. It has the correct "Eagle 135" military proofs and a dusty-blue finish. It has retained somewhere between 85-90% of this variation. Most of the finish loss is on the front strap, but there is also minor wear on the high edges of the slide and around the muzzle. Tiny dots of oxidation throughout. Comes with excellent grips and a period-correct Walther magazine. The bore has decent rifling with pin-pricking throughout. De-cocker is functional.
I believe the holster to be a high quality repro, as I picked it up at a yard sale a couple years ago.
