This is a vintage antique, see history below, it is not a cheap old 1800's Top Break, this is a Smith & Wesson double action Top Break revolver - serial number 416706 puts it in1907 time frame. Chambered in .38 S&W (not .38 Special!), which is not super common of course but is easily available online and in well stocked gun stores. I fired about 10 rounds of a partial box that was in a bag with it and I think my father shot about the same. Tight lock up. It shot perfectly and ejected all the shells as it should. Other than that it has sat in the safe with Rem lube on it. It has perfect hard rubber grips which is very rare in it self. I’d call it about 90-95% plus original blue and based on age a fine piece with no pitting which is rare also.
Bore is in clean and shinny with no pitting, 100% shinny.
A very nice piece of history for a Smith & Wesson collector or just a fun and unique shooter.
Comes with 19 original ammo made by Remington.

*Ammo, the 19 rounds are free and I have no liability as it is old. But it fired as it should. There are 450 rounds of 38 S&W reloads likewise no liability.
They are made up of 38 S&W brass and converted 38SPL brass to 38 S&W that function perfectly. The 38SPL brass is a thicker brass cartridge, which is an improvement with the 93-95 grain bullets.

History
This belonged to my grandfather who was Superintendent of the family Shipyard in Noank, Connecticut. After he retired, my father became the Town Constable and it became his. That was back in the 30's before he became Badge No.1 on the Town of Groton Police Dept.
