Do you know who is worse than scammers/spammers?

These are the people that waste your time with endless texts/Emails then never show up and/or ghost you!

Just a little RANT, then I'll probably delete this post in a couple days. ;-) I KNOW many of you have been here before. :sad:

A guy from Ocala proposes a trade in my favor (for a change), I agree, we set a time to meet at my shop Friday evening. I do NOT travel to sell a gun precisely because of strokers, nor should you.

Anyhow, about a dozen Emails/texts back and forth during the week, Friday rolls around, I get a text from him "I got off work late, so can I be there at 6:45 instead of 6:15." I reply "No problem, I've got plenty to do here, take your time. Lmk when you leave and when you get to this particular intersection"
Meanwhile, a buddy I hadn't seen in about 5 years stops by the shop and we get to bullshiting and I lose track of time. My buddy leaves and I look at the clock--7:30--OK, where the fluck is this guy? No texts on my phone. I text him "weryat?", half-hour goes by with nothing, then I call and leave a voicemail "You showing up or what?". The night goes by and nothing back from him. Fortunately, I had plenty of work to do at the shop so it was not time wasted. But no replies back today either. :rolleyes:

The moral to the story is if you can't/won't keep an appointment to meet to buy or sell something, then have the common courtesy and decency to contact the person you were going to meet in a timely manner to let them know you can't/won't be there. Sure, you can use some lame excuse like "my car broke down" or "the dog bit the baby" or "the baby bit the dog" or some other lie. Or maybe tell the truth like "I had second thoughts and decided I didn't want to buy it." and leave it at that.
